Miriam Wuttkes painting developed from a classic figurativeness on wood and paper (1992- 1997) into abstract expressionism on unfinished and finished canvas (1997- 2009), influenced by the years with Larry Poons at the Art Students League. From 2003 on, influenced by her teacher Prof. Hermanus Westendorp, Miriam Wuttkes painting increasingly became part of the installations, which took on a greater significance in the artist`s concept.
